 Wishing please!
« Thread Started on Jun 20, 2008, 1:10pm »

Rena sighed as she walked on the path that led to the north tower which has the Owlery located right inside. She patted the letter that she had placed in her pocket. It was a letter to her parents, where ever they where this time. Every now and then they would send her a gift and a letter saying where they where, with an occasional picture but it wasn't much.

The letter asked if she could come and visit them in the Christmas time instead of going to live with her grandfather. She didn't want another boring Christmas. It wasn't so bad to stay at the school, but she wanted at least to see what her parents where doing. She hoped that they would say yes, but the last two times they had said no, she this time she prayed that they would say yes.

Rena went up the stairs and inside. It didn't smell very good, but she didn't mind. She called down a school owl, and fed it a treat, before she tied the note to its foot. "Please find Charles and Chatheline Knox" she told the bird, before she stepped back and watched the owl fly off.

"Why do I have to do it?" Aidan wined to his sister.

"Aidan, it's your turn to take it to the Owlery, besides I wrote the letter you should have to do something, too.." His sister spoke normally, with a small smile behind a large book about Herbology, she always found reasons for him to leave her alone with a book. Aidan narrowed his eyes at his sister before letting out a deep sigh, grabbing the letter and the bag with owl treats in it.

Aidan walked out of the room, and down the hall before stopping. "That's fine, I guess.." Aidan smirked, taking out a folded piece of paper, putting it in the envelope with Alisha's letter. He always wrote a letter to Aunt Kelsie, well, only if he wanted something and the both of them new that. Continuing his was to the owlery he stuck the letters in the opposite pocket than the owl treats.

This time Aidan had written a letter to his Aunt asking her if this year he could stay at Hogwarts during the breaks, he wasn't looking forward to babysitting Sierra and Elijah by himself since Alisha found a job to help out cooks. How she found that, he had no idea. He quickly made his way to the owlery, an unpleasant smell hit him before he even touched the steps. Ew, it smells worse than Uncle Darren's cooking in the summer after it's sat out for days, Aidan thought, walking up the steps and inside.

"Hello, Accio." Aidan said to a dark owl who knew he was needed and had flown to him. He sort of felt bad letting his cousin name his owl, but the name Accio, meaning "to summon" in the Wizarding World, was alright for an owl. "Same plan," He mumbled, giving his owl a treat from his pocket. "take this to Aunt Kelsie." Quickly he tied the letters to his owl's leg, but something caught his eye. Aidan turned his head to see Rena.

"I'm sorry, I didn't see you there.."

Instead of leaving yet Rena decided to hang back and feed some of the owls. She pet some of them, well those that would let her pet them. She hummed a soft song as she pet and fed a few of them. She even told a short story to those that would listen. Rena smiled softly, before she put the treats away and turned around to head back.

When she was going to leave another person came inside which her eyes caught right away. She knew who it was quickly enough. It was one of the twins of Ravenclaw, Aidan. Rena turned around and pretended to feed more treats for owls.

When he spoke she looked up and turned around. "Its okay, not a lot of people notice me. Mostly they know me from my grandfather, so i get ignored easily" she replied softly.

Accio was the family owl, he had been in the family for 10 years so far. Aunt Kelsie was always worried that we under-fed him, but for an Aunt who sends 10 letters a month shouldn't be too worried over the situation. Oh, I can just imagine Uncle Darren's reaction when she was sending her 8th letter to Alisha and him. Making up some excuse to send a letter when ever she could.

"Kelsie! How many letter have you sent them this month?"

"Well, only seven-"

"SEVEN! Stop pestering them, woman!"

"But I'm worried about whether or not Alisha passed her exam in Transfiguration!"

"She's got her fah'ter's smarts, leave her 'lone! Sheesh!"

Looking out the window and seeing Accio flying off, Aidan turned his attention back to Rena. He listened to her response and his face looked a little confused. You can't just judge this girl off of who her grandfather was. I mean, Rena was cheerful, more fun-daring, or at least that's the impression Aidan got from her in class.

"Well, that's hard to see. I mean, your grandfather was.."Aidan paused trying to remember,"Professor Knox? He was.. sorta boring, as I've been told, but you, you don't seem boring at all." he replied back, trying to sound not too shocked. I mean, Rena was a beautiful girl, how could she been ignored easily because of her grandfather?

"Well everyone who has taken his class, just sees me, knows who i am, and doesn't say a word. Its all because of him. But i can't really blame him. He is boring all the time not just in class time" she let out a soft giggle, before she looked around. "Well I'm not very boring, i mean i do talk a lot sometimes which is bad but..." she stopped and blushed softly. "Sorry, there i go blabbing again." She looked over at Aidan and sighed softly.

"Well how are you doing Aidan?" she asked softly, remembering him from a few of her classes that she was taking. She wondered when her family's owl sugar will be coming back. She missed the owl oh so very much. Looking around a little, she turned back toward Aidan. She was glad that he wasn't ignoring her like some people would.
