James Potter awoke on the warm morning when a light was shining down upon him. He shook his head, tossing and turning, as he pulled his pillow from under his head and put it over his eyes. It was much too early to get up for James. He groaned as chatter from the boys in his dorm started to fill his hidden ears. This was not his idea of a wake up call. Finally James gave up. He took the pillow off of his face and shielded his eyes from the bright sun. James tossed his feet over the edge of the bed and places them on the wooden floor.
It wasn't long before James was dressed, his teeth were brushed, and he was messing up his hair just how he liked it. With a yawn he walked out of the Boy's Dorm, down the stairs to the Common Room, and out the Portrait Hole. He walked to the Enterance Hall, decended the Grand Staircase, and went to the Great Hall. In the Great Hall he met up with Padfoot and Moony and ate his breakfast. As soon as breakfast was finished he bid them goodbye and took his leave.
James had decided, early this morning when he had been rudely awaken, that he woudl wander around today. So wandering was exactally what James did. He walked around the castle until he came to the semi-crowded Courtyard. The wonderful breeze made James smile as he took in the floral scent. Then he saw the most beautiful sight that one could see. The red haired girl of his dreams was in the Courtyard, her nose in a book as usual. James smiled at this, watching her for a few minutes; takign in her beauty.

Lily had been among the first to wake up that morning. she didn't sleep in, she didn't felt the need for it. After waking up rather quickly she got dressed and brushed her teeth. she got a book with her and went down for breakfast. she met up with some of her friends and she would spend her day like she normally did. reading or making homework something like that. She had her breakfast and walked down to the courtyard.
She sat down. most people still where at breakfast because they had woke up later then she did. it was still quite down there but after half a hour she noticed more and more noise. She tried to focus on her book. witch was harder then it looked since the many people that all where making noises. A few minutes later she looked up. She scanned the courtyard to see who all was there. it now was semi-crowded.
She had noticed that James Potter was there. strangely without his friends. But she knew that he probably was up to no good. he never was. She shook her head a bit. she knew she couldn't do anything till it would be actually happening. she opened her head a bit and read more. keeping her ears open if she would hear something that wasn't right.

James's head tilted to the side as he watched the angel of his dreams just sittign there. He could tell, even from this far away, that she was having trouble consentraiting on her book. It seemed like Miss Evans would have rather been in the library or somewhere else that was quiet instead of the ever loudening Courtyard. With a shrug James ran his fingers through his hair and started to walk toward Lily.
Once reaching her he sat down beside her. His arm, automatically, went around her shoulder as he leaned down closer to her. "Do you mind if I stare at you up close instead of from across the room?" James asked in a smooth voice as he looked down at the beauty that was next to him. He knew what was to happen, but something in him hoped that Lily Evans had changed her mind about him. He really wasn't all that bad when it came down to it.
James looked at her with his soft, deep brown eyes. He really wanted to know what she was thinking and why she hated him so much. It's not like he had ever done anything to her. Sure, James was a prankster,but was that the real reason he didn't have this beautiful girl, his one true love. She was all he had ever wanted, and all he was going to settle for.

Lily was reading in her book, witch was a very interesting one, when she heard someone walking toward her. or at least her direction. she read on till she felt someone sit besides her and putting his arm around her. she closed her book when she heard who it was. How dared he.
"yes i do mind" she said. "I mind that you stare at all" she continued. what part of the word no didn't he understand? she got his arm of her shoulder. she couldn't forbid him to be here so she would move to somewhere else. somewhere quite.
She stood up and looked at him strait into his eyes. She didn't know why he couldn't leave her alone. and why he had to be so arrogant. she started to walk away from him without another word.

"Evans..." James said as he watched her get up and push his arm off of her shoulder. "Come on. Can't I have one little chance with you? I'd put all the pranking aside whenever I was with you."
James looked at her with puppy-dog eyes as he spoke. He wanted to be with her more than anything in the world. All he needed was for her to say yes. James wasn't one to force anyone to do something so he was waiting for Lily Evans to give him the word...If she would ever give it to him.
"Come on Evans," James pleaded as he stood up and walked toward Lily. He stood about a foot in front of her, waiting for her answer. He knew what it would probably be, but he had to try. James knew that she would eventually give in and then he would have her for the rest of his life, knowing that she would fall for his boy-like charm.

"No" she said. she had said it a million and maybe even more times. "I wouldn't go out with you if it were a choice between you and the giant squid!" He was just a arrogant toe rag. that was her opinion on him. and he should know that by now. Lily didn't even know why he still was after her. why he didn't just found himself another girl. one that wanted to date him.
"Why can't you leave me alone Potter?" she asked him. she hoped that after whatever he had to say he would just be over with her. she had come her to read her book not to talk to him.

When James got a no from her he opened his mouth to protest. He soon closed it, searching for the right words to say. He had known what she would say, but he had wanted to try anyway in hopes that she had finally come around. It wasn't often that this firey red head changed her mind when she had it set, but when she did the cange was always something big.
"Evans, let's not kid ourselves," James said on a more serious note. "I want you and I know that you want me. Now you just have to give into how you truly feel. You can't hold back your emotions Evans. It will put wrinkles in that pretty little forhead of yours."
As James spoke he touched Lily's forehead and laughed. So much for being serious when around her. James did hope that she would come around though. He would wait until the end of time for Lily Evans. She was the only girl out there that kept him on his toes.

The nerve that he had. Thinking that she would even be interested in him. "The only one who is kidding himself is you potter. thinking that i would even be interested in you." she said. She wouldn't go out with his even if he was the last guy on earth. What was he even thinking to say something like that.
She also got his hand of her head quickly after he had touched it. she hadn't been happy about him sitting next to her but he was going a bit to far now. She didn't hate him, though she would never say that, but he was just to arrogant and frustrating at times. well all times.

"Right Evans," James said as he took a step back from her. "I don't kid myself. I see exactly what is going on in front of me. You are holding it back and everyone can see that. That anger you have is just disguised it is really love for me."
James nodded as he looked at Lily. He was really pushing her buttons right now, but he wanted her so bad. He had never wanted a girl more than he did Lily. Ever since he met her on that very first trian ride he knew that she was the one. James had been trying for four, coming on five, years now to get her to realize that she loved him back. Was she ever going to or should he just give up now?

He's insane. It wasn't much of a news flash but he was. "Whats in front of you is someone who doesn't like nor love you. and who never will" she said. she was more then trough with it. he was getting to far and he wouldn't just take a hint would he. She was just so angry at him at the moment. and he wouldn't get it.
Lily wanted him to give up but he didn't. Why? that one question kept running trough her head. She had first seen him in her first year in the train ride to hogwarts. and she had disliked him from the start. because of his actions against sev. what had he done to him?
